February 21 - March 20, 2004
From February 21 to March 20 will be held at Galerie Trois Points Jennifer Lefort’s first solo.
Jennifer Lefort’s approach is based on color, print and mobile appearance. Large format, his paintings are distinguished by their tonic palette (chartreuse, mandarin, cyan, cocoa, etc.), inseparable form. She explores the sensuality of painting, its aspect sometimes viscous, sometimes liquid, while questioning the pleasure that the material proposes. Stains, drips or simple tracings affirm a gestuality that combines both spontaneity and mastery of space. Striving for a certain amount of stripping, the work presented here reflects the artist’s interest in aesthetics, but also reveals the collective fascination with the decorative.
In short, an attractive painting, which titillates the viewer with its colors, textures and flat areas, voids and solids. A must see.
Born in 1976, Jennifer Lefort holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University. Her work was presented at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce House of Culture in the summer of 2003. She recently exhibited at Skol, in duet with Jeanie Riddle.
