Challenging and inventing new ways to use acrylic paint is an ongoing process for William Griffiths , and it’s what drives him to create. The artist is constantly searching for methods outside the norm to express himself. He takes the medium into unfamiliar practices, and pushes it to create a new language for itself. Colour, texture and depth are the tools Griffiths uses to bridge the unorthodox and traditional acts of painting. Leaving himself open to chance and mistakes is an integral part of his process, as it gives way to new ideas.
William Griffiths briefly studied 2D design at Sheridan College in early 2000, but remains largely a self-taught artist. He currently lives and works in Niagara Falls. He is represented by p|m Gallery in Toronto.
